Lemer & Company reached large settlements for personal injury in resort accidents. In one case a woman’s foot went off a slightly elevated walkway which curved and was poorly lit, causing her to fall, fracturing her hip and requiring a hip replacement. In the other a man was using a water trampoline that had worn out protective surfaces, resulting in his leg falling past the surface of the trampoline, seriously injuring his knee and requiring surgery and months of rehabilitation. This case demonstrates the importance of prompt investigation. We sent an investigator to the resort immediately after the accident to document the condition of the equipment and interview witnesses and thereby prevented anyone from saying that the condition was good at the time of the accident and had only deteriorated after the injury.
